Practicing lawyer since 1972. His vast experience includes handling all types of processes, appeals and procedures before the different Colombian Courts in matters of litigation in the civil, labor, administrative and commercial fields, such as national and international commercial contracts, bank contracts, insurances and reinsurances, aviation accidents, trust funds, international trade, commercial distribution contracts and restrictive practices of free competition. He also possesses a renowned experience in handling extraordinary appeals of Cassation and Revision before the Civil Cassation Room of the Supreme Court of Justice, as well as the denominated alternative dispute resolution methods or ADR's, such as national and international Commercial Arbitration, Mediation, Amicable Composition and Conciliation in a wide variety of national and international affairs. He has personally led several Arbitration cases including private international arbitration, and has presided several arbitration tribunals as an arbitrator. He is an active member of the body of arbitrators appointed by Bogota's Chamber of Commerce in it's A list; of the Colombian Engineers Society; and of the Arbitration Center of the Colombian-Italian Chamber of Commerce. During the past 30 years, he has advised several national and foreign companies in the fields of private, civil and commercial law, with special emphasis on Oil, Mining, Petrochemical, Environmental, Banking, Insurances, Land, Air and Sea Transport and Goods and Services Distribution (Commercial Agency) law, and in several other legal aspects. He is a lawyer from the Faculty of Jurisprudence of Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, in Bogota, graduated in 1972. Besides his mother tongue Spanish, he reads and speaks English.
